Itinerary:
DAY 1: AREQUIPA / CHIVAY At 08:00 a.m. Pick you up at your Hotel with a private transport with a group of about 15 participants in our mini van then departure from Arequipa ( 2325m.a.s.l) towards north west direcction behind snow-covered Chachani; we see wild vicuñas, alpacas & llamas in Pampa Cañahuas national reserve, some birds like flamingoes, ibis, andeangooze, ducks, andean eagle "Kara Kara" view point of the Volcanoes andsnow covered mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m.a.s.l). Arrive in Chivay(3600 m.a.s.l), capital of the valley. Afternoon obtional visit to the thermal springs & pools in La Calera 40ºC. (Admission to the pools not included, about $3 per person). Overnight.
DAY 2: CHIVAY / CRUZ DEL CONDOR / BOTTOM OF COLCA CANYON Early morning after breakfast (06:00) we leave for a full day excursion on the left shore and bottom of the canyon. On the way to Cruz del Condor we visit a tipical town, Yanque or Maca with its colonial churches, gently people with tipical needlework dresses, hundreds of pre inca terraces still in use with andeangrowings like corn, quinua, kiwicha among others. After a 2 hrsdrinving we get the most visited point " the cross of the condor" here we are able to see the depth of the canyon and the flight of the Condors. At this point we meet our trekking guide to go down on the canyon for 3hrs aprox (this is about 1000 mts down). Alter Lunch we rest in San Juan de Chuccho village (place with plantly of frut trees). By the afternoon we continue to Cosñirhua and Malata towns (very pinturesque places with a lot of vegetation, a museum, its very old spanish church stile, and very fliendly local people). Then time to start the descending hike this time to the deepest part of our trek to reach "SangalleVillage " at the altitude of 1900 mtaprox., Place to enjoy the swimming pool of temperatured water of 20ºC. p.m. Dinner. andand overnight in bungalows made of bamboo.
DAY 3: COLCA CANYON /AREQUIPA At about 05.00 we estar the trek up hill to Cabanaconde town for 3 hours aproximatly (here is optional to hire a mule and takes about 1.45 hrs to go up). After breakfast in Cabanaconde we take the bus back to Arequipa on the way there is a stop in Chivay for lunch and other option to go to the hot spring, later about 14:30 hrs we start to come back to Arequipa. On the way we descend from 4830 a.s.l. to 2 325 a.s.l. and passing through a Nacional Reserve and Pampa Cañahuas habit of the four kind of south American camelides.(llama. Alpaca, vicuña and huanaco). Arrival time in Arequipa 18.00 hrs.aprox.
