OVERVIEW OF THE TREK.

Lares  trek 4D/3N, is one of the fomous Inca Trails to Machu Picchu is located in Calca province, on the right side of the Vilcanota Mountain range, over 3000 masl, this trek is famous by its wonderful landscape ,surrounded for many snowcapped mountains with more than 5000masl, many picturesque quechua speaker communities, in which the essence of the ancestral Inca Culture is still alive, you will have an unforgettable experience in this trek, with a nice hot spring , hike, food, relax, Local Andean People, who are still keeping and practicing the Inca Culture custom, Farming more than a hundred kind of potatoes, wearing a nice colorful dress, making music with flute, more than 10 small lakes on the way each one with plenty of trouts, houses made by stone with thatch roof, a lot of Alpacas, Llamas, Sheeps and Cows grazing along the way, after hike during three days we catch the train to Aguas Calientes, Accommodation, and ready to visit and explore THE LOST CTIY OF THE INCAS “MACHU PICCHU”, and finally come back to Cusco city, 100 % happy after to competed your trip by Cusco, because it was the greatest experience that you had in your life UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE!!!.

Day 01: CUSCO – CALCA – LARES (HOTS PRING) – WACAHUASI.

WALKING TIME 6 HOURS, DISTANCE 10 KM

At 5:00 to 5:30 am we will pick you from your Accommodation, we leave Cusco city by bus   to Calca(part of the sacred valley of the Incas, 2950masl), for about one and half hour, in Calca you have a breakfast , in this place you will also have the last chance to buy the thing you need for the trek(it’s a big local market), like plastic poncho, coca leaves, some extra snack, ,at 8:00 am we are leaving Calca to Lares hot spring(3000 masl), the travel will take us about two and half hours, once we arrive in hot spring we enjoy the pools for one hour, after that we hike for two hours gentle up way until Chancachaqa(3400masl) where we have the buffet lunch, 40 minutes siesta after lunch, then we continue hiking up way for three hours more until Wacahuasi Community(3800masl)place we camp, tents will be ready , you can organize your bed, hot water in your tent to wash your hands and face, tea time will be ready at 5:30pm and dinner at 7:00pm bet time 8:30 good night sweet dreams!!

Very important, this and day after night will be cold, that is why you must to have a really good sleeping bag, sometimes the temperature is three or five degrees below zero.

Day 02: WACAHUASI – AURORAY’PASS – MANTANAY VALLEY.

WALKING TIME 9 HOURS APROX, DISTANCE 13 KM

At 5:30 am wake up time with a nice coca tea in your tent(room service), hot water as well, 30 minutes to pack all your stuff, and at 6:10 am breakfast, after that get water makesure to get two and half liter per person and snack for the day, once everyone is ready we start hike up way , walking like 40 minutes we are going to visit a local family house, wher you can see in situ how people live in the Andes, what conditions, how they keep the potatoes, their animals. After that we continue walking all up way for about three hours until Auroray’Pass(4600masl), on the way we are going to see alpacas, llamas, sheeps, potatoes fields, amazing view of snowcapped mountains,ect. Once we arrive in Auroray’pass the view is completely different, awesome view which is Mantanay valley, small lakes on the way down, plenty of Polylepis(Qeuña trees), first view of the sacred valley of the Incas, etc. From the top all way is down way until campsite, descending 40 minutes from the Pass we are going to have the lunch very close to the first lake(Aurorayqocha) we have 40 minute siesta, we fill up the water bottles and continue walking for about two houra more until Mantanay(3900masl), where we camp, tents will be ready we organize our bed, tea time or happy hour at 5:30pm nad dinner at 7:30 pm. Good night!!

Day 03: MANTANAY – YANAHUARA - OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN.

WALKING TIME 4 HOURS, DISTANCE 8KM, EASY DAY ALL DOWN WAY.

Wake up time at 6:30 am with a coca tea in your tent, 7:00 am breakfast, get water and snack, once everyone is ready we star to hike for about four hours down way easy day or piece of cake, until Yanahuara(a small village that is part of the sacred valley of the Incas, 2800masl), where we have the last lunch with our staff, after lunch we are going to see good bye to them(cook, horsemen) and you can give your personal appreciation to them, then we get on the bus to Ollanataytambo where we catch the Train to Aguas Calientes Town(2050masl), we have Accommodation in a hostel, dinner will be at 7:30 pm.

Day 04: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – OLLANATAYTAMBO – CUSCO

“THIS DAY WE DISCOVER, VISIT AND EXPLORE THE LOST CITY OF THE INCAS”

We will wake up early in the morning in order to take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu in order to see the sunrise. You will have a 3 hour guide tour by your English speaking guide. After that you will have plenty of time to explore and enjoy Machu Picchu by yourself. Those who have tickets to Huayna Picchu will have time to climb the mountain, which takes approximately 1.5 hours round trip. When done exploring, you will take a bus or walk down to Aguas Calientes to enjoy your lunch and take a train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy and then by bus to Cusco where you will be brought back to your hotel.
